Vision

The human rights, tolerance, respect for peoples and cultures will only be achieved if we practice these values within the various generations.  Institutions and organisations providing or facilitating adult education should be the cornerstone to foster the intergenerational learning and solidarity, by facilitating the contact between generations and teach them how to live, learn and evolve together. MATES intent to contribute to these goal!

 

Aims

MATES aims to produce a Pan Dissemination of results coming from Intergenerational Projects approved under Grundtvig Programme to encourage and promote it’s Exploitation. MATES intents to foster the development of new Intergenerational Projects and contribute to a more efficient and effective use of UE Resources in the field of Intergenerational learning.

 

Objectives

  1. Organize a meeting and public open debate (roundtable), with partners,  2 experts from UK and DE, and several other stakeholders. They should express their needs and expectations regarding intergenerational learning. Their ideas will be incorporated in the Guide. The Roundtable will be audio and video recorded, to further uses.   
  2. Produce a Guide of Ideas for Planning and Implementing Intergeracional Projects “, made after the Products and Outcomes, of previous Grundtvig Projects, since 2000.
    1. The Guide will be translated in the 22 UE languages
    2. 2.000 printed copies of the Guide and a more complete .PDF version will be distributed in all 27 UE countries
  3. Produce a Multilingual (22 EU languages) card and a Poster drawing the attention to the need of Learning in later life; Inter-generational and family learning.
    1. 50.000 copies of the Card  and 10.000 copies of the Poster will be reproduced and distributed
  4. Produce a website with an  .eu domain that will concentrate presentations of the selected Projects and links / information’s on how to get the final products. The website will be organized as an Online Library of Intergenerational Projects 
  5. Participate in the “2009 Employment Week”, International Congress Ideas of/for Europe and other key-events in the Country Partners.
  6. Produce ongoing evaluation of the Project
